Guo had been gone for a week because of work. By the time the taxi stopped in front of his apartment complex it was already late at night. He paid, got his suitcase and fumbled after the keys in his bag as he walked towards the door. He tiredly dragged the suitcase up the few stairs, unlocked the door and stumbled towards the elevator. Guo let out a sigh of relief, with a weak smile he thought about how happy he was to finally be home again. His couch and tv, his kitchen and bathroom, their bed and all the familiarity of home. But most of all he was happy that he wouldn’t be sleeping alone tonight.

As expected the apartment was dark when he opened the door. Locking the door behind him, he put the keys in a bowl and left his suitcase in the hallway. Slipping out of his shoes and hanging up his coat. Confidently he made his way in the dark to the bathroom. His clothes were left in a pile with drops of water on the floor after having splashed some on his face. In the bedroom he quietly slipped in under the blankets and his hands looked for a waist, but there was none. Lifting the blanket to check if he was wrong, all he found was a note.

“Hey babe, I’ll be late, so you just sleep, okay ♥“

He chuckled, put the note on his nightstand and snuggled up real good. He tried to sleep, but just couldn’t. So he got up and slipped into some sweatpants and a t-shirt before he went to the living room. In his bag he found his iPod. Turning on a lamp, he plugged the iPod to his DVD-player, scrolled down and found a song he’d recently fallen for. The beat made his body tingle all over. He turned the volume up, but only so it wouldn’t bother any sleeping neighbors. His body started moving to the beat of the song. The song played on repeat, by the third time he took off and was dancing all around the apartment, wherever and on whatever the beat lead him to. Engrossed in the song, he started singing along even if he didn’t know the lyrics. Completely lost, he didn’t hear the door opening and didn’t see Duan watching him with an amused smile on his face as he got out of his jacket and shoes. When he did see his lover leaning against the wall he only winked him over. Duan chuckled quietly as he made his way over to Guo. Guo grabbed the brunette’s hands, pecked his lips and forced Duan to dance with him.

Three songs, much laughter and many kisses later they turned off the music and the blond collapsed on the coach panting from all his wild dancing. Duan stretched and asked how the trip had gone and if he’d eaten. Guo blabbered on about the trip, the things he’d seen and done and people he’d met. But it was late and Duan was tired, so he kissed the man to make him shut up and follow him to the bed. Tucked away in their bed, with Guo pressed against Duan’s back, he whispered something the blond could barely hear.

“Welcome home.”

As they drifted off to sleep.
